Polish coffee is traditionally served
"Turkish style." This means coffee grounds are thrown
into a glass and hot water poured over them. The result: the grounds
float to the top until they become saturated and sink. Or until
the victim stirs them. If the victim doesn't stir the coffee and
doesn't wait long enough, well, he gets a nasty mouthful of grounds.
Mel experienced this while at Morskie
Oko.
A photograph of his expression would certainly have won a prize.
While we were at the Eye of the Sea, I ordered a coffee
as opposed to instant coffee. I thought that it was regularly brewed
coffee. When I sipped it, I got a mouthful of coffee grounds. Yuk!
They take hot water and toss in a large spoonful of grounds and
you're expected to know that you have to stir it and it brews as
you stir and then sip off the top.
