Near Jabłonka there is an outdoor museum showing buildings representative of rural Polish architecture from two to four hundred years ago. Most of the buildings are transplanted, but the main structure is original.

This is the kitchen in the oldest building - built in the 17th Century. Imagine preparing meals in the heat of the day in summer!
The rich property owner also had looms for making clothing. The sample here was very scratchy. Imagine wearing something like that in the heat of summer!

Mel examining the latest water wheel invention used in the sawmill seen in the background.
Mel examining one of the main structure supports inside the flax oil factory.

This old church in Orawa was built sometime in the 17th Century. It is an all wooden structure with a stone walkway all around it. We weren't able to go inside because it was locked. There were lightening rods across the top.

This is an old log building built over 400 years ago. Inside were stone floors and some wood floors. It was very dark and musty. It was very much like old homes in Williamsburg, VA.
This home had a fenced garden. Again, it was very much like the other home, but it was obviously belonged to a rich landowner. There were pictures on the walls and a very old accordian - all symbols of wealth.
Engineer Mel inspecting the unique timber structure. Look at the size of these logs!
This was a device used in crushing flax seeds for making oil.
